Whiskey Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting
If you’re looking for a dessert that feels indulgent, a little grown-up, and incredibly satisfying, these Whiskey Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting are it.

Rich fudge brownies get a splash of whiskey for warmth and flavor, then get topped with a fluffy peanut butter buttercream that makes the whole dessert feel over-the-top (in the best way).
They’re the kind of brownies you bring to a holiday party, game night, or girls’ weekend and instantly become the person everyone asks for the recipe from. And yes — they start with boxed mix, but trust me: no one will ever know.

Whiskey Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13" glass or ceramic baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine both brownie mixes, water, oil, whiskey, and eggs. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips and ½ cup peanut butter chips. Avoid overmixing.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35 minutes. During the last 5 minutes, sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips and peanut butter chips across the top.
- Insert a toothpick into the center — if it comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are fine), the brownies are done.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and whiskey.
- Whip on high speed for 5 minutes, or until fluffy.
- Once brownies are fully cooled, spread the frosting evenly across the top.
- Slice and enjoy.
