Ingredients

Whiskey Brownies
  • 2 19.9 oz boxes Betty Crocker Dark Chocolate Brownies
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Screwball whiskey
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter chips
Peanut Butter Frosting
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 tablespoons Screwball whiskey
Topping
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips

Method

Make the Brownies
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13" glass or ceramic baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine both brownie mixes, water, oil, whiskey, and eggs. Stir until just combined.
  3. Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips and ½ cup peanut butter chips. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes. During the last 5 minutes, sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips and peanut butter chips across the top.
  6. Insert a toothpick into the center — if it comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are fine), the brownies are done.
  7. Cool completely before frosting.
Make the Peanut Butter Frosting
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and whiskey.
  2. Whip on high speed for 5 minutes, or until fluffy.
Finish
  1. Once brownies are fully cooled, spread the frosting evenly across the top.
  2. Slice and enjoy.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Brownies can also be frozen (frosted or unfrosted) for up to 3 months.
