Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • Ice
Optional Garnishes
  • Black salt
  • Lime Wheel
  • Sugar Rime with Edible Glitter

Equipment

  • Black and White Paper Straw optional, but on theme

Method
 

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add tequila, lime juice, and triple sec to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well until chilled.
  3. Pour the grenadine into the bottom of the prepared glass.
  4. Slowly pour the shaken tequila mixture over an ice cube or the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.
  5. Add a striped paper straw and serve immediately.
  6. Cheers.

Notes

Tips for the Best Layered Look
  • Pour slowly. Gravity and density do the work.
  • Grenadine always goes first. It’s heavier than the margarita.
  • A spoon or large ice cube helps control the pour.
