Chunky Chocolate Walnut Easter Cookies with M&Ms

Soft chewy cookies loaded with chopped Easter M&Ms, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Colorful spring cookies perfect for Easter baskets.

Ingredients
  

  • c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 c. butter softened
  • ¾ c. granulated sugar
  • ¾ c. brown sugar packed
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 2 oz. walnuts chopped
  • 1 c. Easter M&Ms chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Chop Easter M&Ms into smaller pieces (halves or thirds). Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla for about 2 minutes until light and creamy.
  5. Add eggs and beat until fully combined.
  6. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Don’t overmix.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, and chopped M&Ms.
  8. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake 7-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers still look slightly underdone. They’ll continue baking on the hot pan.
  10. Let cool on pan 1-2 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack.

Notes

Use a cookie scoop for even sized cookies.
